Expat’s Corporate Account Managers, Relocation and Migration Consultants have extensive experience and expertise in meeting the unique needs of client companies and their relocating employees.

Expat’s more than 25 field consultants provide Expat’s broad relocation services coverage in major cities and regional areas throughout Australia and London.

Our Consultants are seasoned expatriates themselves, having lived and worked in several countries, so understand the impact that relocating can have on both the transferee and family moving to the new location. They are local experts with first-hand knowledge which enables informed decisions.

All members of our staff are chosen for their qualifications, knowledge, expertise and experience, and most importantly because they adhere to Expat’s high professional standards. They display the empathy required in understanding the demands of relocating on the assignee and family. Their on-going ethic for delivery of detailed corporate relocation and migration services and ‘going the extra mile’ on all assignments illustrates Expat International’s primary standard.

Margaret McCartney – CEO & Registered Migration Agent


The impetus for Margaret’s founding of Expat International in 1983 sprang from combining her commerce background with her own expatriate experiences gained on five continents in the course of 14 years.  Her vision as a pioneer of the Australian relocation industry has been endorsed by the  high regard in which she and Expat are held both in Australia, and around the world. Margaret holds an honorary title of  Senior Global Mobility Specialist (SGMS), conferred by Worldwide Employee Relocation Council, and has been awarded their coveted Distinguished Service Award.

Expat’s migration division was added in 1987. In 1992, when migration consultants were for the first time, required to undergo tertiary study to become registered practitioners, Margaret again was a pioneer in becoming a graduate of the Class of ’92. She is a founding member of the Migration Institute of Australia.


Trish Hansen-Managing Director- Human Resources & Mobility Services.

Trish-CroppedAfter returning from four years living and working in London, Trish joined Expat International in 2004. She has, through her extensive corporate career, developed and implemented management and policy programs for major global companies. Her specialisations are in the areas of talent and career enhancement, remuneration, and expatriate policy programs.

Trish was previously Chief Executive Officer of Investors in People Australia, a company established by the Australian Institute of Management. Her economics background and post graduate degree in Human Resources Management and Industrial Relations has been the basis for her focus on implementation of large-scale human resource projects in fields such as manufacturing, finance, and telecomunications.

She holds the GMS (Global Mobility Specialist) designation from Worldwide ERC, which is the global mobility sector’s key industry body.

Trish has played a significant role in training and development at Expat, and presented a number of papers on career development and performance management at conferences and forums, both in Australia and overseas.


Ferren Tao, MARN 1278102 – Senior Migration Consultant

Ferren completed the Graduate Certificate in Immigration Law from Victoria University in 2011. She is a Senior Registered Migration Agent within Expat’s team. Her specialistations are in Employer-Sponsored visas, General Skilled Migration including onshore Skilled Graduate Visas, and Permanent Residence Visas.

Ferren graduated from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Commerce (Major in Accounting), and is a Member of CPA Australia. Migrating from China in 2004, Ferren understands first-hand the complexities of the Australian visa system, and uses her skills to effectively manage communication between her corporate clients, visa applicants, and the Department to ensure the best possible outcome.

Ferren has been part of the Expat team since 2014.


Christen Ireland- Senior Global Account Manager

Christen holds a Bachelor of International Hotel and Tourism Management. She worked in hospitality management for eight years, with an extensive customer service focus, which incorporated her excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrated ability to build relationships cross-culturally.

Christen joined Expat International in 2006. She is a Senior Global Account Manager with the Relocation team. She is highly regarded by clients and colleagues alike for developing strong business relationships, with an outstanding ability to deliver practical and meaningful solutions. Christen’s winning combination of professional competencies increases client value and enables business success.

 


Tania Olson- Senior Global Account Manager

Tania is a Senior Account Manager, who prides herself on providing a seamless transition and relocation experience through excellent communication and follow-through. She holds a Bachelor of Arts, and a Bachelor of Laws, and practiced law for seven years. However, her true passion lies in Mobility, and assisting others in undertaking their moves around the world.

An expat herself, Tania lived in the USA for a number of years. On return to Australia, she became Expat’s Field Relocation Consultant, providing personalised assistance in home and school search, and settling-in programs. Nowadays, Tania uses her exceptional customer service skills to make each client feel assured, welcome, and well supported by the Expat Team.

 


Vanna Lim- Senior Global Manager

Vanna assists clients through all aspects of their domestic and international moves and immigration processes. She is the company’s Digital Media Officer, monitoring and expanding Expat’s digital channels, generating content, and strengthening Expat’s voice in the world of global mobility services and visas.

A former member of the diplomatic corps, Vanna has lived and worked in Dublin, Ireland and Manila, Philippines before coming to Melbourne and joining Expat’s ranks. She holds a Master of International Business from Melbourne University.

Calm, collected, and capable, Vanna ensures each valued Expat client receives personal attention and top-notch service.


Frederica Romijn- Assistant Account Manager

Freddy works alongside Expat’s Relocation Team to provide her trademark excellence in service and support, to ensure that Expat’s clients receive empathetic care and positive outcomes for their move to Australia or overseas.

Within an expatriate family, Freddy has lived in Boston, USA and London, UK. She is studying for her Bachelor of Technology (Computing Studies) at RMIT, Melbourne.

 

 

 


Stephanie Lucena- Assistant Account Manger

Growing up as an Expat herself and spending much of her life relocating, Steph has lived in China, the UK, Malaysia, and the US. From a childhood on the move to living in 4 countries, Steph well understands the challenges and opportunities that relocation can bring, particularly for families on the move with school-age children.

She is currently completing the Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne, majoring in Anatomy and Physiology.

Todd Duffy- Finance Manager

Todd has handled the financial side of Expat’s business growth for the last twelve years, and counting.

Todd has the clients’ needs at the forefront, and has even developed custom programs to accommodate increasing client-specific demands for billings.

He holds an Associate Diploma in Accounting.
