Moving overseas is one of the most rewarding things you can ever do. Not only does it test your limits and boundaries, it also exposes you to variety of people, places and cultures.  Whether the move is for business or leisure, being well prepared will make the transition much easier (not to mention more enjoyable!). Here are 3 you may want consider before relocating to Australia.
1. Getting Your Visa
One of the biggest hurdles to moving overseas is getting a Visa.  Australian Immigration law is complex and considered to be the most complex area of law (right after taxation law!) so before you leave, it is strongly recommended that you do some research about Australian visa process and requirements. Australia has reciprocal arrangements with a many countries which allows you to work and travel, so it’s best to see if you are eligible. If your country doesn’t have such arrangements, you could look into being sponsored by an employer. This will depend on your skill set, qualifications and industry, so once again you need to do your research. At Expat International, we have a dedicated team of migration agents who work to ensure your visa application process is successful. If you have any questions regarding what visa options are available to you, contact the team today.
2. Visiting
Still a bit unsure about whether you want to live in Australia? A quick holiday to Australia will help you decide whether you truly want to live there and where you should live (and where you don’t want to live!). Australia is vast and varied country with something to suit everyone. Each Australian state offers something different, so it’s to your advantage to explore before you make the final decision. Trust us, Australia is a beautiful place to visit, and an even more incredible place to live! 3. Setting Up Home
Whether you’re purchasing or renting, finding a new home is not easy. It’s even worse when you’re not a local. Which suburbs are the best ones? Which school should your children attend? All this requires research and good local knowledge. You’ll also have to consider whether you’ll be shipping your furniture and items or starting completely afresh.  Moving an entire household can be expensive and you’ll have to consider the costs and benefits. If you’re moving for work, be sure to find out whether your employer will be covering the entire or part of the cost. At Expat we’ve had over 30 years’ experience in finding ideal homes around the world to suit different needs and lifestyle. If you need help finding a home, please do not hesitate to contact us.
